Established on September 8, 1961, the North Carolina Secretary of State incorporated the Sanford Housing Authority (SHA). Since that time, we have provided affordable housing for families, seniors, veterans and individuals with disabilities in the City of Sanford and Lee County. The SHA also provides affordable housing opportunities for citizens of Harnett County through its Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program. The SHA is governed by a seven-member Board of Commissioners appointed by the Mayor of the City of Sanford. It is managed by a Chief Executive Officer (CEO). SHA is not a City of Sanford Agency or Department.
Central Carolina Strategic Developers (CCSD) is a nonprofit organization based in Sanford, North Carolina, dedicated to serving as the real estate development arm of the Sanford Housing Authority (SHA). Incorporated on March 14, 2017, CCSD shares the same seven-member Board of Directors as SHA, ensuring aligned goals and seamless collaboration in all development projects.
