Job: Chief Executive Officer

The Sanford Housing Authority is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Chief Executive Officer (Executive Director). This position will oversee the operation of the Housing Choice Voucher Program which has 951 vouchers, as well as 268 public housing, 176 LIHTC, and 5 HOME units.  If selected, the CEO will administer maintenance and modernization programs on behalf of the housing authority.

Skills & Experience:  Applicants must possess outstanding and proven management skills along with prior experience in public housing and Section 8 programs; acquisition and development experience are preferred. Candidate must have a comprehensive knowledge of HUD guidelines and possess an understanding of principles, practices, and materials used in residential property management, asset management, low-income housing tax credits, building construction and maintenance;  a thorough knowledge of the building codes, ordinances, regulations, and standards governing construction and maintenance of multifamily and single-family housing, strong planning and organizational skills, a strong sense of urgency, competitive and ambitious drive to get things done.

Education:  Four-year bachelor’s degree in public administration, Business Administration, or related field, and/or five years progressively responsible experience in residential property management, construction, contracting, or maintenance is preferred.
