Position Summary: The Executive Assistant to the CEO/Communications Coordinator plays a dual role in providing high-level administrative assistance to the CEO and managing the Sanford Housing Authority’s (SHA) communications and public relations strategies. The position is integral to SHA’s senior leadership team and is responsible for event planning, public relations, board liaison coordination, and stakeholder engagement.

The Executive Assistant to the CEO/Communications Coordinator focuses on developing marketing strategies and programs to represent SHA favorably, leading public and community relations, branding, and communication efforts on multifaceted matters. The position is the single point of contact for all media relations and communication with the CEO. The role is responsible for researching, writing, and editing news releases, articles, and feature materials to enhance the continuous flow of information for SHA and its affiliate organizations.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive responsibility in communications, public and community relations, event planning, social media management, intergovernmental affairs, and marketing.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience using graphic design software is required.
  • Experience in project management and event planning is required.
  • A strong understanding of website management, social media, and digital communication strategies is required.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
